We are a Colombian private non-profit organization; created in the year 2000 within the framework of the Bilateral Agreement of the Initiative for the Americas. This agreement was signed between the governments of the United States of America and the Republic of Colombia which allowed the set-up of the Account of the Americas through a debt-for-nature swap.
Additionally, we are efficient and dependable financial administrators with technical and managerial strengths that allow us to design, select, and finance programs and projects which have an impact on two priority areas: conservation and sustainable development; and child protection and development, with emphasis on early childhood.
We encourage the participation of civil society and the private sector in implementing the country’s public policies in the two thematic areas mentioned. To increase the scope and impact of our interventions, we support the creation of networks of executors and establish strategic alliances with partners at the highest level.
The processes and procedures that we implement for the administration, control, monitoring and oversight of the investments in environmental and childhood programs and projects are incorporated in our Quality Management System, we are certified since 2008 by Bureau Veritas Quality International Colombia in compliance with the international quality standard ISO 9001-2008.
Additionally, we are affiliated to the Network of Environmental Funds in Latin America and the Caribbean RedLAC, a community of knowledge which includes over 20 Environmental Funds in the region.
